More of the Twins!

 
 

They grow up so fast!!! These little guys who you first saw in the womb are now 6 months old, can you believe it?! This session was so much fun, I love this age group, they are so adorable and happy! We spent the morning at Forsyth Park here in Savannah, and just got so lucky with our color choices. BIG thanks to Mom for picking out such perfect colors. Tunnel Vision

The thing is, I'm a minimalist. I carry a small purse, with small wallet and only have 1 keychain with only the keys I actually use on it. This does not always mesh well with photography. Like the time I didn't want to take my whole camera bag onto the beach because I was only photographing my own child and realized once I got down there that I had no batteries in my flash. So I'm trying to be better about thinking what is necessary and sometimes that means having more. That said, I had this realization that while I've been posting sample photos to my blog I've been doing so with smaller images, so they don't take up so much space. And then I realized (why this took so long to realize, I'm not sure) that you can't always see them very well and truly appreciate their beauty when they're so small! So I'm going to go back through and start posting larger images so you can see what's going on, especially with the family group pictures. Just thought I'd let you know, I'm trying to think BIG about my little business and I hope you are too!

More Family Fun!

It was another fabulous morning at Forsyth today, this time with Wes and Wyatt (you remember them right? If not, scroll down a bit and then come back...I'll wait :)) and their maternal extended family. We had SO much fun! Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt and Uncles all came down from South Carolina for pictures so they wouldn't have to drive as far. As it is with many families Grandma and Grandpa are about to have an empty nest and wanted one last family photo before everyone went off to college/missions/military/husband & babies. Ana has three brothers and one sister, and as you can tell from these pictures, they are a hoot! I had a blast with them, especially playing out on the playground. As you can tell, I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites for the blog, they were all so good! A special "Thanks!" to Brendon who had to have some late senior portraits done as well; that's what happens when you don't take them with the rest of your class. He graduated this past June and leaves soon for the Marine Corps. My thanks to the whole family for giving me such a fantastic start to the day!

'Tis the Season...

It's never a bad time to do family pictures and right now is perfect! I spent the morning with Skye and her parents at Forsyth Park where we got some great pictures of her little family. We even managed to get a couple of Mom and Dad! Now when was the last time YOUR Mom and Dad had their pictures taken? Even with summer half over it's not too late to plan your summer family portrait session! I shot these last week at Tybee's North Beach. A friend from church asked me to take a few of her son Ryan (the male model in the blue polo:)), and also some of her daughter and her family. What a bunch of cuties! Their youngest is only 6 months older than Jonas, and we had lots of fun playing in the sand. I learned that bubble wands also make fantastic swords! Meet the King of My Heart

If you've been keeping up with me here on my blog while my website is under construction (good news, we should be up in a few more weeks here! We were doing everything ourselves, but that just got to be too much, so we've got someone helping us out with all the technical aspects of it - thanks Larry!!) then you've met Wes and Wyatt, our first official members of the King (or Queen) of Hearts Club. I created the club as my maternity/newborn package to document the momentous first year of a child's life. I'd like to introduce you the inspiration behind the club and also the reason I put the "King" first; my son Jonas. He just made 18 months this past week and to celebrate we took him to the beach Saturday night to play a little and take some pictures. Even for a professional photographer, shooting your own kid is the hardest thing in the world, especially at this age! Here are a couple of my favorites, you can see more on our family's blog.

 

 

Happy Father's Day Mike!

Say Hello to Wes and Wyatt, born May 21st, 5 weeks premature, they are doing very well. We did their newborn session this morning, had lots of fun and in the end we all got peed on. But that's part of the deal with babies, especially newborns, so it's all good! These are some of my favorites. Thanks to Mike and Ana for being my assistants in getting some great shots!

Meet Skye, a precocious toddler who just turned 2! We had lots of fun at the park Thursday morning playing and taking pictures. She especially loves swings! In her words, everything went "O.K." but I think Mom would say they went more than OK, especially after seeing her proofs last night! My apologizes to all parents who have such a hard time choosing which pictures they want. I can't help it your kids are all so darn cute! :)

Lately everyone has been asking to see a sample of our wedding albums! So here are the 10 spreads (2 pages to a spread, each one is how the pages look when the book is opened) from our most recent wedding. Many thanks to our beautiful bride and groom!

Aren't they just adorable?! And they haven't even been born yet! :) Mom and Dad (Mike and Ana) go to church with us, so when I heard the girls at church were having a baby shower for her, I couldn't resist giving her picture sessions for the boys.
